The city is rich in art and culture, and many traditional crafts are still passed down. On the other hand, the IT-related industry is also thriving, and in addition to the artisan spirit existing from long ago, there are many companies in the city that excel at innovation and have established their own technologies with an up-and-coming spirit of ingenuity.
Many historical buildings and streets remain in the center of the city, such as Kanazawa Castle, Kenrokuen Garden, temples, and teahouse districts. It is a city dotted with contemporary architecture featuring innovative designs, such as Kanazawa Station and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art.
The venue, Kanazawa Bunka Hall, is located in the central area of the city. There are many business areas, restaurants and bars nearby, and also fresh food markets and department stores within walking distance.
Kanazawa is known as a town of delicious food, blessed with delicacies from the mountains and the sea.
In addition, the tea ceremony has remained popular since the Edo period, and as a result there is a wide variety of Japanese sweets available in many long-established sweets shops.
